Shepherds of the Earth

Finding Inspiration in Every Turn

The Creation Care Ministry is rooted in Eucharist Prayer C: "At your command all things came to be: the vast expanse of interstellar space, galaxies, suns, the planets in their courses, and this fragile earth, our island home."  I am motivated to take action on climate by three things:

1.    As a father of two girls, I share a concern for my two daughters and future generations about to what degree the planet will be habitable

2.    The leadership challenge of chipping away at a seemingly intractable problem of climate change (we can make a difference!)

3.    A sense of spiritual and moral obligation to do something to heal the planet we've been generously given, but neglected (are we only on a hedonic treadmill?)

Our Focus

will be setting a mission and vision for the ministry, along with tracking progress to the Groves Resolution, which is a commitment by the Diocese of Missouri to plant 500 trees, shrubs, or native grasses in 2024 on church grounds and surrounding communities.
